The mission of our practice is to provide veterinary ophthalmology service for the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disorders in the dog, cat, horse and other animals. We strive to provide these services through state of the art medicine and surgery in the intermountain region of Colorado. We have adopted the standards of the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Association of Equine Practitioners.
What is a Veterinary Ophthalmologist?
A veterinary ophthalmologist has met and completed
the following prerequisites:
- Graduated from an accredited college of veterinary medicine and is licensed to practice veterinary medicine.
- Three years of specialized training following graduation; 2-3 years of which must be in an approved ophthalmology residency program.
- Written, oral, and practical examinations by the Board of Examiners of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. The veterinarian is then recognized as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. For more information, visit http://www.acvo.org.
